The Emergency Medical Institute (EMI) offers a 100% online Continuing Medical Education (CME) Core Content Renewal Program. EMI is committed to working with local EMS agencies to ensure that Core Content CME is available, convenient, and relevant to the needs of those individuals that provide pre-hospital emergency medical care.

The 4-Year Continuing Medical Education Recertification Program is an independent, agency-driven program that is reliant upon the provider satisfying all learning components. Submission of CME recertification is the sole responsibility of the provider’s EMS Agency CME Coordinator. EMI is not responsible for the submission of program documentation to the New York State DeDeparmentparment of Health (DOH) Bureau of EMS.

The Emergency Medical Institute will offer Core Content CME at the EMT, AEMT, EMT-CC, and Paramedic provider levels on a continual basis. In accordance with New York State DOH Policy, CME program applicants affiliated with agencies that are not approved by the New York State DOH Bureau of EMS will not be permitted to participate in the CME recertification program.

Northwell's Core Content CME Programs are offered online through our proprietary web-based Learning Management Platform.

To be eligible for this program, a participant's agency must be approved by the New York State DOH Bureau of EMS to participate in a 100% online learning program. Suffolk County EMS agencies that have a binding MOU with Suffolk EMS are NOT eligible to participate in this program!

To learn how your agency can become approved for 100% online CME, please send an e-mail inquiry to: CMECoordinator@LearnEMT.org

All students must attend an online Registration Session/Learning Platform Orientation to begin the program. There will be one program entry point each month.
